The Why of the YMCA

When our new 51,000 square-foot facility is completed in 2022, we will have the capacity to serve 1,617 individuals each day, right in the heart of downtown Salem. What we are creating together is much more than a building.

Within this facility we can provide a stable platform for all to thrive in their early childhood and beyond while connecting our youth to academic and career pathways as they develop assets for their future. Within the walls of our Y, we will invest in the stability and strength of adults and families across our community while fostering healthy and interconnected lifestyles amongst our aging members.

All that we do and offer within this building will be community-based and person-centered, investing in the vibrancy of our community for generations to come. The YMCA provides services in five core areas bringing a broad range of supports within easy reach of every child, family, and adult.
